James Zipadelli Introductory Video

Welcome! Thanks for visiting my site.

I am a multimedia journalist, writer and editor. My work has appeared in several publications in Boston, including Boston's Weekly Dig, BostonNOW and Mass High Tech. I have also written for online media outlets, including OurParents.com CTNewsJunkie.com and DigitalMediaBuzz.com.

I have served as a Writer/Editor with the Federal Reserve Board of Governors; as a Technical Writer with the Administrative Office of US Courts and at the Department of Veterans Affairs. I have edited documents in AP and the Chicago Manual of Style.

Two of my stories for OurParents.com were named to the Web site's "10 Top Senior-Care Posts of 2010", "Options for Long-Term Care Complex, Lack Accessibility" (#1) and "DSS Statewide Respite Care Program Affected By Connecticut Budget Deficit" (#8). Both stories can be found under "Recent Stories."

To view examples of videos, radio interviews and podcasts I've done, please go to the Multimedia page.

While at Emerson, I was a staff writer and producer at WERS-FM, one of the top collegiate radio stations in the country. In addition, I co-hosted a political show, "Poli-Talk" on the Emerson Talk and Information Network. I love politics, writing, and current events. I am a former member of the Writer's Bridge Freelance Network and the Society of Professional Journalists.

At the University of Connecticut, I spent three of my four years at The Daily Campus, the largest collegiate newspaper in Connecticut. I began as a correspondent and finished as a columnist and member of the paper's Editorial Board. To see my articles, click here. For my efforts, I was awarded the 2006 "Commentary Rookie of the Year" by the paper. In 2005, I took a hiatus from the paper to serve on the Undergraduate Student Government Judiciary. Even in this role, I was always informing people. At the conclusion of my term, I received the "Informer Award" by then-Chief Justice Christine Elston.

I hold a Master's degree in Print and Multimedia Journalism from Emerson College and a bachelor's degree in journalism and political science from the University of Connecticut.
